- A reputable breeder invests in the high quality of his breeding dogs in terms of health, wellbeing, appearance and character. Will be knowledgeable about the breed and provide puppies with the best possible start to develop into a healthy dog.
- Breeding, Whelping & Raising puppies requires the expertise of a dedicated and informed breeder! There are many responsibilities to consider when breeding dogs legal, ethical and moral.
- A reputable breeder will place registration endorsements/limitations on cockers sold as companion/pets. To help prevent dogs bred by them ending up with backyarders/puppy farmers.
- A reputable breeder will also ask that a dog come back to them if it needs rehoming for this reason and to find a suitable home, without the time pressure you may have.
- You should receive care instructions for your puppy as well as lifetime support and advice whenever you need it.
- It is is a myth that it's good for a dog to have a litter of pups before she is spayed, this simply is not true.

Every Dogs NZ Member with a registered kennel must register every puppy and transfer the ownership within 14 days there is no additional costs for this. Dogs NZ then sends the pedigree papers directly to you.
The New Zealand Kennel Club (Est 1886) began trading as Dogs New Zealand on July 1st, 2017. The change better reflect its membership and activities. Which include: Confirmation/Breed Shows, Agility, Obedience, Rally-O, Scentwork and other dog sports and competitions.
